I Can Finally
Edit and Undo Sent Messages on iPhone
Informing applications like Telegram and WhatsApp are routinely refreshed with new highlights, yet Apple's Messages application gets significant updates just one time each year, when the new adaptation of iOS emerges. Fortunately, the current year's update is a major one: With the send off of iOS 16, we can at last fix and alter sent messages, a component that has been accessible on different stages for quite a while.
There is one admonition:
These highlights apply to iMessages as it were. SMS (green air pocket) messages
can't be altered or unsent. Perhaps one day Apple will embrace RCS, which could
permit messages to be unsent and altered across the two iOS and Android.
Likewise, these elements are restrictive to iOS 16, which is right now
accessible as a public beta. While these betas are accessible for anybody to
introduce, they are as yet not totally gotten done, and could experience the
ill effects of a periodic bug, so introduce in spite of the obvious danger.
How to
delete sent i Messages using Undo Send
Undo Send lets you quickly recall a poorly thought out
message. It also comes with a nice animation, as the message bubble bursts in
front of you (it’s very Apple).
Tap and hold a message that you want to delete, then tap
the “Undo Send” button. The message will be deleted from both
devices. However, you can’t use Undo Send with every message: You can only
delete a message within a 15-minute window, and deleted messages can be
recovered within 30 days.
How to edit sent iMessages
If you only
want to fix a typo, it’s much better to edit the message instead. Tap and hold
a message from the conversation and choose the “Edit”
option. You’ll see the familiar text compose box, from which you can now edit,
add, or delete any part of the message. Once you’re done, tap the blue Send
button again.
When you send
the edited message, it will be tagged as “Edited,” but the
recipient won’t be able to see the original message, or the exact edits that
you made. As with message deletion, you only have a 15-minute editing
window.
